An odd Day

So, RESCU was nice enough to place an order with angles foods.  The pick up was for Sat. 26-9-09 between 8-10am.  Found out that there was a show for Mom’s that work at home to come and show what they do, bring easy up and work.  It was on the same day from 10-4.  There were a few people that showed up for it.  Another jewelry Lady, Avon (since they are every where) a medi-fast lady and me.  I did better then other jeweler, cause I did 20.00 for the whole time… which I ended up packing up at 2:30.  I am really happy that I didn’t bring my wheel.  Because clean up would have really been a pain.  Anyway, this is a being to the odd evening.  I got to go see a friends new apt.  Which was really nice.  She asked me if I wanted to help her bake a cake.  Which at first was going to be from a box.  We needed eggs.  So we went to 2 stores, got stuff for dinner and dessert, being the cake.  It was the best Cake ever.  She helped me make Zucchini Chocolate Cake.  She is going to send me the recipe.  So after a good dinner and very worth while dessert dessert we went to a move theater by Richmond and 45. Really cool place it was describe as being in an arcade.  I laugh cause I thought it was funny.  Till I went in really it was very similar to what being in a game might feel like with the carpet and lights, there was a Marble Slab Creamery in there, and a full restaurant.  Our choice in movie was “Whip it!” with Drew Barrymore and the chick from Juno.  Really good movie rated pg-13.  Would really fallow the rating on that one.  After that she wanted to show me this place in Down-town Houston.  Called Notsuoh (yes Houston spelled backwards).  Really interesting place best thing about it.  THEY HAVE GAMES, not DND but table top games like Chess and Janco plus really interesting music a really old guy that is really really tall.  bussing tables and people my age trying to bring back the Dada movement with out really understanding what it is.  Most of what they were doing was easy to dismiss. Three things stood out with the performers

Performer 1. male names Nick something.  Set up sheets and ask for people to come up on stage, he wanted them to be apart of his show.  There was a sheet at waist high hanging off of chairs and such.  He passed out flash lights, told everyone that he wanted to share something, and wanted the people on stage to tell them what they though.  Then he took of his pants.  Told everyone that he had a scare, because of some hemorrhoids, and wanted them to look and tell them what they thought.  I was really in shock, normally in a public place your not allowed to undress and show genitals however it was okay here.  To continue, few of the people said things “glad I am gay (from a girl”, wipe better, eat better food etc… Then he told everyone that he had testicular cancer and they removed one.  Only one person on that stage said that they were glad that he made it though that a live.  The others that talked said things like: children are over rated, you only need one, and other stupid things.  The last one was about in grown hairs and looking like an std and how uncomfortable that made him feel, in a shame short of way.   I am really editing this part.  Anyway, this was his emotional release from what he was going though.  The thing about this, is that it stuck and was worth the discussion of impressionism performance art.  Yes it was odd, I think there was a better way then striping on stage to talk about it.

Performer 2: A woman early to mid 20’s got up and started saying I want it, I want it.  I deserve this, I need this.  Then started throwing a fit you’d see a 2 or 3 year old throw where they are on the ground kicking and screaming.  However she was using the F. word.  And telling everyone to F*** off, and the such.  At this point my friend ask me to close her tab which I did.  I got up in the middle of her “acting” to go and close it.  Which leads to the third person.

Personal 3:  This annoying lady thought to take it personally that my Friend and I choose to leave during the last act that I just told you about.  Think she was a drunk friend of the chick.  Anyway she got on the mic.  and told everyone in the bar in a general way pointing at us.  That “if you don’t have the f**ing balls to get up on the stage then keep your f**ing mouth such.”

Okay, so here is why I am so bothered by this.  I really didn’t do so well at my show.  I had a headache and really don’t like going to clubs or bars so much because of the loud music that they really play to loud, and normally isn’t all that great.   More to that it is really out of my comfort level especially when they don’t sell bottled water and I have to use a cup.  I am really way to paranoid about getting drugged to drink out of a cup.  After knowing a few people that got drugged,  That I don’t have a problem ending a fight by putting someone one the ground.  Violence isn’t the answer most time but it does get people to leave you alone.  Not to be totally wrong on this I really did have a lot of fun hanging out with her.  And the work was really disturbing.  I do remember something Miss Sinclair told us in her drawing class “the more disturbing the piece is the more you remember it.”  Which is true, there are some pieces that others have made that have annoyed me cause they didn’t finish the work they way it should have been.  I guess these act were un-finished in away.

This was supposed to be a fun outing, and it really was.  Liked the fact that I got a free tee shirt.  well wasn’t so free.  Looking at this way my movie was 4.89 and the shirt was 4.89.  It is rather hard to find a new shirt for that price out side of wal-mart, and to see a movie for that price on a Saturday night in a really crowed theater.
